The Phantom is the new state of the art in rigid wing design. Based on the design principles pioneered in the Stalker, the Phantom takes performance, safety, and handling to a new level.

The Phantom retains all of the unique features of the Stalker:

  • Gel coated D-Cells
  • Aileron control system for reduced drag and rapid roll response
  • SPADD system to reduce adverse yaw
  • Winglets for tip vortex control and tracking at high speed
  • Exceptional high speed performance
  • Superb strength and safety

The design of the Phantom offers:

  • Higher aspect ratio (increased nose angle, reduced wing chord)
  • Increased wingspan reduces span loading, decreases sink rate, and improves glide
  • New RVG system allows the pilot to adjust the aileron angle in-flight to optimize glide and minimize pitch pressure
  • Increased aileron area
  • Increased SPADD area to completely eliminate adverse yaw
  • Improved tip and winglet design
These changes have been made possible by the aileron control system and construction of the airframe that is completely rigid. With no flexible tips and a tubular trailing edge, the shape of the wing and twist distribution are precisely controlled regardless of configuration of flight load.
Flight Characteristics
This design evolution has resulted in dramatically improved performance and flight characteristics across the entire speed range. Spin resistance and pitch stability have been improved while reducing stall speed. The increased SPADD area completely eliminates adverse yaw. Coupled with the effortless handling afforded by the aileron control system, the pilot can more easily optimize climb in even the weakest lift.

On glide, the Phantom has no equal with an ultra low drag profile and the RVG system that allows the pilot to lower both ailerons in-flight. With RVG activated, trim speed increases 10-12 km/h, bar pressure is reduced, and glide is further improved. Pilot effort is dramatically reduced while racing between thermals or on long glides.
The increased aspect ratio and reduced stall speed allows the glider to slow for effortless landings, even in no-wind conditions, with no tendency to drop the nose on flare.

No other design offers the combination of stability, performance, control, and pilot comfort afforded by the Phantom.
